Purchasing a hat

When purchasing a hat you will need to choose a size. In order to do that you will need to know the head measurement of the person the hat is intended for. Measuring the head isn't difficult or complicated to do, but hopefully this quick guide will confirm how it's done.

To measure the head

You will need either a soft tape measure (dressmakers tape measure), or a piece of string and a regular tape measure to measure it against.

  Measure the circumference around the head keeping  the tape level and firm,
 just above the ears, across the forehead and over the  bump on the back of the head.
 As a guide -  take your head measurement and add approximately half an inch, for comfort, this will give your hat size for a TwiLd Capit Hog handmade hat.

This beautiful Lapel pin incorporates recycled Japanese kimono silk in a stylised bow design. The lemon silk, with a subtle pattern of peach and blue waves, is combined with a peachy apricot crepe type fabric which really makes the boutonniere pop.

This unique take on a lapel flower will not wilt, easy to pack for travels, and can be worn again and again. A stylish and unusual finishing detail to any outfit, and the perfect reminder of a big day or special event.

*approx. size - 5.5cm x 4.5cm in size.
Can be finished with a brooch back, or a button back. Just indicate your preference in the drop down menu. The button will be approx. 1.3cm - 1.7cm depending on availability.

Brooch and button backs sit differently. A button back, for use with a lapel buttonhole, will sit closer to the lapel than a brooch back.

Materials: recycled Japanese kimono silk, man made fibre crepe fabric 

Each one is individually handmade and so will not be identical. Fabric pattern will differ due to placement cut.

Absolutely amazing, I saw this item in the medium size that was available, I knew I had to have it, I even messaged the owner if it was possible to make it in my size.

One day I logged on to Esty and there it was listed in my size, I knew immediately what I had to do, it was in two other peoples baskets, but no ! it was destined to me mine !

When it arrived I was astounded, the quality of materials and the craftsmanship was beyond anything I could imagined, this thinking cap was made and designed not to last years but to last decades. I am beyond delighted to own this Harris Tweed cap and I know I will grow old wearing it, I will keep it in great condition so when I have children I will pass it on to them. it was so great and fantastic I even bought another one and I'm thinking about buying a third one.
