Purchasing a hat

When purchasing a hat you will need to choose a size. In order to do that you will need to know the head measurement of the person the hat is intended for. Measuring the head isn't difficult or complicated to do, but hopefully this quick guide will confirm how it's done.

To measure the head

You will need either a soft tape measure (dressmakers tape measure), or a piece of string and a regular tape measure to measure it against.

  Measure the circumference around the head keeping  the tape level and firm,
 just above the ears, across the forehead and over the  bump on the back of the head.
 As a guide -  take your head measurement and add approximately half an inch, for comfort, this will give your hat size for a TwiLd Capit Hog handmade hat.

Shibori tie dye has gives this putty coloured cap a free spirit festival feel. The cotton Bedford cord fabric, brushed and tactile soft, is hand dyed to create the shibori design, before being stitched into this eye catching pillbox style hat. Due to the nature of hand dying each hat made in this way has it's own unique character.   

The tip is quilted with contrasting coloured thread in taupe and blue giving the distinctive TwiLd Capit Hog designer detail, whilst adding structure, and lined with beige fine twill.

Absolutely amazing, I saw this item in the medium size that was available, I knew I had to have it, I even messaged the owner if it was possible to make it in my size.

One day I logged on to Esty and there it was listed in my size, I knew immediately what I had to do, it was in two other peoples baskets, but no ! it was destined to me mine !

When it arrived I was astounded, the quality of materials and the craftsmanship was beyond anything I could imagined, this thinking cap was made and designed not to last years but to last decades.
