When purchasing a hat you will need to choose a size. In order to do that you will need to know the head measurement of the person the hat is intended for. Measuring the head isn't difficult or complicated to do, but hopefully this quick guide will confirm how it's done.
To measure the head
You will need either a soft tape measure (dressmakers tape measure), or a piece of string and a regular tape measure to measure it against.

Swirling sea shell design Boutonniere, handmade in Japanese Silk. Inspired by the wave pattern on the silk fabric itself.
Made from recycled Japanese kimono silk in a lovely lemon with subtle waves of pink and blue, embellished with rose and gunmetal grey beading.
This beautiful and original lapel pin will make a stylish addition to any attire. Lovely to wear anytime, and something to treasure long after a big day or special event.
*approx. size - 3.7cm x 3.4cm in size.
Can be finished with a brooch back, or a button back. Just indicate your preference in the drop down menu. The button will be approx. 1.3cm - 1.7cm depending on availability.
Brooch and button backs do sit differently. A button back, for use with a lapel buttonhole, will sit closer to the lapel than a brooch back.
Materials: recycled Japanese kimono silk, cotton cord, seed beads
Each one is individually handmade and so will not be identical. Fabric pattern will differ due to placement cut.
