Purchasing a hat

When purchasing a hat you will need to choose a size. In order to do that you will need to know the head measurement of the person the hat is intended for. Measuring the head isn't difficult or complicated to do, but hopefully this quick guide will confirm how it's done.

To measure the head

You will need either a soft tape measure (dressmakers tape measure), or a piece of string and a regular tape measure to measure it against.

  Measure the circumference around the head keeping  the tape level and firm,
 just above the ears, across the forehead and over the  bump on the back of the head.
 As a guide -  take your head measurement and add approximately half an inch, for comfort, this will give your hat size for a TwiLd Capit Hog handmade hat.

This item is handmade to order

A stylish bow tie handmade from classic blue denim with a black floral flock design, and black cotton poplin. The asymmetrical detail is quirky yet stylish and would compliment a suit or more formal tuxedo.

The clip on style attaches on to a shirt collar for easy wear, without the need of a neck strap. Modern, versatile with vintage charm from the 1930s 40s era.

Approx. size -

  • Regular - 9cm x 5.5cm (3 1/2inch x 2.2inch)
  • Long - 12cm x 5.5cm (4 3/4inch x 2.2inch)

Materials: flock denim, black cotton poplin, facing, metal bow tie clip,

Clip-on bow ties can only be worn with turn-down, standard collar shirts. They are not suitable for wing-collar or collarless shirts.

Each one is individually handmade so will differ with regards to pattern depending on fabric cut and placement. The denim has been pre washed, but as with all denim care should be taken to avoid colour transfer if allowed to get damp. Metal clips may result in some "wear & tear" on a shirt collar.

Absolutely amazing, I saw this item in the medium size that was available, I knew I had to have it, I even messaged the owner if it was possible to make it in my size.

One day I logged on to Esty and there it was listed in my size, I knew immediately what I had to do, it was in two other peoples baskets, but no ! it was destined to me mine !

When it arrived I was astounded, the quality of materials and the craftsmanship was beyond anything I could imagined, this thinking cap was made and designed not to last years but to last decades. I am beyond delighted to own this Harris Tweed cap and I know I will grow old wearing it, I will keep it in great condition so when I have children I will pass it on to them. it was so great and fantastic I even bought another one and I'm thinking about buying a third one.
