Purchasing a hat

When purchasing a hat you will need to choose a size. In order to do that you will need to know the head measurement of the person the hat is intended for. Measuring the head isn't difficult or complicated to do, but hopefully this quick guide will confirm how it's done.

To measure the head

You will need either a soft tape measure (dressmakers tape measure), or a piece of string and a regular tape measure to measure it against.

  Measure the circumference around the head keeping  the tape level and firm,
 just above the ears, across the forehead and over the  bump on the back of the head.
 As a guide -  take your head measurement and add approximately half an inch, for comfort, this will give your hat size for a TwiLd Capit Hog handmade hat.

An unusual keyhole design makes this a stylish easy wear scarf. The short cravat style is handmade in chocolate brown corduroy, and lined with soft brown marl fleece. Both the corduroy and the fleece have been repurposed from jackets. 

A piece of Harris Tweed wool has been used for one half of the keyhole opening, as a design feature and to highlight this hand-finished detail.
The keyhole constructed from both the corduroy and the wool provides two options for wearing the scarf, either with the touch of Harris Tweed showing or not.

Completely hand finished this hassle free neck warmer with old style charm is perfect for the winter months.

Materials: cotton corduroy, polyester fleece, wool trim

Care -
Gentle hand wash in cool water. Do not wring. Leave to drip dry. If a press is required - sandwich between a towel with corduroy face-up, and press through the towel.

Absolutely amazing, I saw this item in the medium size that was available, I knew I had to have it, I even messaged the owner if it was possible to make it in my size.

One day I logged on to Esty and there it was listed in my size, I knew immediately what I had to do, it was in two other peoples baskets, but no ! it was destined to me mine !

When it arrived I was astounded, the quality of materials and the craftsmanship was beyond anything I could imagined, this thinking cap was made and designed not to last years but to last decades.
