When purchasing a hat you will need to choose a size. In order to do that you will need to know the head measurement of the person the hat is intended for. Measuring the head isn't difficult or complicated to do, but hopefully this quick guide will confirm how it's done.

To measure the head

You will need either a soft tape measure (dressmakers tape measure), or a piece of string and a regular tape measure to measure it against.

  Measure the circumference around the head keeping  the tape level and firm,
 just above the ears, across the forehead and over the  bump on the back of the head.
 As a guide -  take your head measurement and add approximately half an inch, for comfort, this will give your hat size for a TwiLd Capit Hog handmade hat.

This luxurious and completely unique beanie hat, in a patchwork design of pale baby blues, has been re-imagined from up-cycled pure cashmere sweaters. The blues of the cashmere and silk are slightly paler than the photos.
Cashmere is the fine hair from the underbelly of goats, highly prized for its softness and warmth. 

The cashmere is quilted to soft cotton winceyette with vertical and diagonal lines. This form of quilting is called flat quilting, the purpose of which is to add that extra layer of warmth.

The hat is fully lined with luxurious pure silk jersey, in a beautiful bluebell colour, which is part quilted to the cashmere. It would be a shame to hide such gorgeous fabric, so the quilted silk turn-up with its lovely sheen adds character to the hat.

Cashmere is known to be up to 8 times warmer than other wool, and with the light layer of quilting and super soft silk, these all natural luxurious fabrics will softly hug the head and ears for comforting warmth, as only a sweater beanie can
