Purchasing a hat

When purchasing a hat you will need to choose a size. In order to do that you will need to know the head measurement of the person the hat is intended for. Measuring the head isn't difficult or complicated to do, but hopefully this quick guide will confirm how it's done.

To measure the head

You will need either a soft tape measure (dressmakers tape measure), or a piece of string and a regular tape measure to measure it against.

  Measure the circumference around the head keeping  the tape level and firm,
 just above the ears, across the forehead and over the  bump on the back of the head.
 As a guide -  take your head measurement and add approximately half an inch, for comfort, this will give your hat size for a TwiLd Capit Hog handmade hat.

We are all the captains of our own ship on the sea of life. Have courage in knowing your ship has inner strength, with an indomitable pure gold sail that will always get you through. 

Vintage miniature figurine of a bear with a toy boat, approx. 4.5cm tall. Inspired by the Japanese art of Kintsugi, that imperfections gained through life create uniqueness and are part of an items charm, the captains hat and one of the boats sails has been hand embellished with 24k pure gold leaf. 

This preloved little bear has had a life, but is ready for another, because there is so much more to him/ her now than there was before. Each bear is gilded by hand so no two will be identical.

A "little pocket hug" in the form of an engraved oak veneered wooden heart comes with the bear, and makes a useful surface protector for the figurine on the days it is not required in a pocket.

Absolutely amazing, I saw this item in the medium size that was available, I knew I had to have it, I even messaged the owner if it was possible to make it in my size.

One day I logged on to Esty and there it was listed in my size, I knew immediately what I had to do, it was in two other peoples baskets, but no ! it was destined to me mine !

When it arrived I was astounded, the quality of materials and the craftsmanship was beyond anything I could imagined, this thinking cap was made and designed not to last years but to last decades. I am beyond delighted to own this Harris Tweed cap and I know I will grow old wearing it, I will keep it in great condition so when I have children I will pass it on to them. it was so great and fantastic I even bought another one and I'm thinking about buying a third one.
