Purchasing a hat

When purchasing a hat you will need to choose a size. In order to do that you will need to know the head measurement of the person the hat is intended for. Measuring the head isn't difficult or complicated to do, but hopefully this quick guide will confirm how it's done.

To measure the head

You will need either a soft tape measure (dressmakers tape measure), or a piece of string and a regular tape measure to measure it against.

  Measure the circumference around the head keeping  the tape level and firm,
 just above the ears, across the forehead and over the  bump on the back of the head.
 As a guide -  take your head measurement and add approximately half an inch, for comfort, this will give your hat size for a TwiLd Capit Hog handmade hat.

A stylish easy wear scarf designed with a hand-finished keyhole for easy closure.

The short cravat style is handmade in iconic Harris Tweed, blues and yellow check, and lined with blue cotton knit for design and comfort. 

A touch of vibrant yellow Harris Tweed has been used to highlighting the hand-finished keyhole opening, and provides two options for wearing the scarf, either with the yellow showing or not.  

Harris Tweed is famous around the world, being one of the most luxurious and desirable cloths, due to it's warm properties and having it's heritage protected by an Act of Parliament. It is made from 100% virgin wool spun, dyed and hand-woven by the islanders in their.own homes and finished in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland.  

Completely hand finished this hassle free neck warmer with old style charm is perfect to keep drafts at bay.

I love the design so much. The hat itself made-up silk, corduroy, gemstones and Completed with a tassel, it’s magnificent design is a modern spin of the classical smoking hats. Absolutely amazing, I saw this item in the medium size that was available, I knew I had to have it, I even messaged the owner if it was possible to make it in my size.

One day I logged on to Esty and there it was listed in my size, I knew immediately what I had to do, it was in two other peoples baskets, but no ! it was destined to me mine !

When it arrived I was astounded, the quality of materials and the craftsmanship was beyond anything I could imagined, this thinking cap was made and designed not to last years but to last decades. I am beyond delighted to own this Harris Tweed cap and I know I will grow old wearing it, I will keep it in great condition so when I have children I will pass it on to them. it was so great and fantastic I even bought another one and I'm thinking about buying a third one.
